Description:
The Senior Business Analyst within the Master Data Office (Data Asset Management - DAM) at Ross Stores is a crucial role responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and governance of the company's critical master data assets. This position collaborates extensively with various business units and IT teams to define, implement, and maintain master data standards and processes. The Senior Analyst will play a key part in driving data quality initiatives and supporting strategic data-driven decision-making across the organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Understands and champions the importance of data quality and governance as a top priority, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
- Maintains a strong understanding of Ross Stores' business processes and data landscape to identify critical master data elements and their interdependencies.
- Treats all business stakeholders and IT partners with respect and professionalism; fosters collaborative relationships to achieve master data objectives.
- Assists business users with data-related inquiries, investigates data discrepancies, and proposes solutions to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Provides timely and effective communication regarding data issues, project updates, and master data initiatives.
- Represents and upholds the company's commitment to data excellence and integrity at all times.
- Performs data profiling and analysis to identify data quality issues, root causes, and potential areas for improvement.
- Maintains a strong understanding of master data management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Performs the daily tasks associated with master data maintenance, including data creation, modification, and retirement, following established workflows and standards.
- Contributes to the development and maintenance of master data definitions, standards, and business rules.
- Understands and adheres to data governance policies and procedures, including data security and privacy guidelines.
- As a representative of Ross Stores, demonstrates integrity and ethical conduct in all data-related activities, safeguarding sensitive information.
- Follows all data management policies and procedures, including data quality monitoring and reporting.
- Demonstrates a proactive approach to identifying and resolving data-related challenges, contributing to overall data efficiency and reliability.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

- Ability to perform data analysis and manipulation using tools such as Excel, SQL, or other data management platforms.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:
- Ability to use standard office equipment, including computers and communication tools.
- Ability to spend a significant portion of the workday sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to occasionally attend meetings and collaborate with team members in person.
- Ability to occasionally use presentation equipment.
