Regulatory Specialist

Description:

As a Regulatory Specialist at Cargill, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the company's compliance with all applicable regulations and standards. This position demands a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory adherence. You will be responsible for interpreting and implementing regulatory requirements across various aspects of our operations. This includes developing and maintaining regulatory documentation, participating in audits and inspections, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure compliance. Your ability to understand complex regulations, communicate effectively, and contribute to a culture of compliance will be essential to success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and apply relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and Cargill policies.
• Develop, maintain, and update regulatory documentation, including permits, licenses, and compliance records.
• Participate in internal and external audits and inspections, ensuring compliance and implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, quality, and legal, to ensure regulatory adherence.
• Monitor and analyze changes in regulations and communicate potential impacts to relevant stakeholders.
• Assist in the development and delivery of regulatory training programs.
• Support the development and implementation of procedures to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.
• Investigate and address regulatory inquiries and issues.
• Maintain a strong understanding of applicable food safety regulations (if applicable to the specific Cargill business).
• Prepare and submit regulatory filings and reports as required.
• Contribute to risk assessments and the development of mitigation strategies related to regulatory compliance.
• Stay informed of best practices and emerging trends in regulatory affairs.
• Effectively communicate regulatory information and requirements to internal stakeholders.
• Assist in the development of strategies for engaging with regulatory agencies.
• Maintain organized records of regulatory information and compliance activities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, Regulatory Affairs) or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a regulatory affairs role within a relevant industry.
• Strong understanding of applicable regulations and regulatory processes.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to interpret complex regulatory documents and guidelines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical and regulatory information.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to ethical conduct and regulatory compliance.

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience in the food processing industry or a similar regulated environment.
• Familiarity with relevant regulatory databases and systems.
• Experience interacting with regulatory agencies.
• Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO standards).
